Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011!

The past year has been an amazing year for both my husband and I. We took amazing trips across the world, moved into our new home, celebrated our first anniversary and truly enjoyed our very blessed life. I think everyone looks to the new year as a new beginning.  A time to reflect on oneself, make resolutions, plan for a better year than the last.  I look forward to 2011 as a year of exploring new opportunities, traveling more, improving myself in many ways and to continue to be inspired and inspire others.  Cheers to a great 2010 and an even better 2011!

I hope everyone has a very HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!

And the claws come out...

We had the most amazing holiday ever.  I will be sure to share a recap of our Christmas very soon.  I have been saving these inspiration photos of claw foot tubs for a little while so I thought I'd share them and maybe someone else will be inspired.  Our bathrooms are complete and we love them but these are just absolutely stunning.  Maybe in the next house someday.

Enjoy!

Hermes Inspiration

It's no secret that I am very fond of the color orange.  It's warm, inviting and I can get enough of it.  I am in search for an Hermes tray or table, vintage of course.  They are extremely hard to find which is why I am so so upset with myself for not buying they one I saw in Wilmington this summer.  Nonetheless I am still searching for it.  In the mean time I'll have to settle for little pops of orange around the house.

Hermes Orange inspiration, It would be a dream to have some boxes to display, anyone want to buy me an Hermes gift?

Chinese for Dinner = Fortune cookies for Breakfast

Last night the hubs and I ate Chinese in and passed out.  It has been a very long week.  I'm not sure if I should be insulted by the fact that they gave us an overload of fortune cookies, did they think 5 people were eating what we ordered for just ourselves?  And I thought we took it easy.  Anyway I decided to have the left over fortune cookies with my coffee for breakfast, I'll probably be starving later.

First Cookie: No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.

Good food for thought but certainly not a fortune!

Second Cookie: Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.

I like it! But am I going to get a small opportunity?

Third and Last Cookie:  People who are late are often happier than those who have to wait for them.

I agree, I'm very rarely late for anything.  But is this a fortune or a statement?

I think fortune cookies have become so lame, remember when they use to be Great?

Heaven

Kind of wish my weekend was going to look like this...

But it's not, lots to prepare for the week ahead.

TOMS - Giving new shoes to children in need

So I was trying to find someone I know the perfect gift and ended up with a new pair of shoes for myself.  I was trying really hard not to buy myself things before Christmas.  I usually always fail.  Today I came across these fabulous shoes and bought them.  I'm super excited about them.

The best part about buying these shoes is when a pair of TOMS are bought one pair is given to charity.  The TOMS brand movement is called ONE for ONE. Check out the cause at http://www.toms.com/our-movement/ and see the video below.
